Sealine Beach, a Murwab Resort receives ISO Certification for food safety management

Sealine Beach, a Murwab Resort, takes pride in announcing that it has recently received the highest global standards – International Standards Organization (ISO) certification – from Bureau Veritas Company. This move holds utmost significance as Qatar is about to host FIFA World Cup in 2022.

ISO 22000:2018 sets out the requirements for a food safety management system and can be certified to. It maps out what an organization needs to do to demonstrate its ability to control food safety hazards to ensure that food is safe. It can be used by any organization regardless of its size or position in the food chain. International Standards mean that consumers can be sure that the products or services they are using are safe, reliable and of good quality food. Additionally, regulators and governments count on ISO standards to help develop better regulation, knowing they have a sound basis thanks to the involvement of globally-established experts.

The consequences of unsafe food can be serious and ISO’s food safety management standards help organizations identify and control food safety hazards. As many of today’s food products repeatedly cross-national boundaries, international Standards are needed to ensure the safety of the global food supply chain.

Le Mirage Real Estate and Marriott International sign agreement for Marriott Executive Apartments Doha

Le Mirage Real Estate, a member of Sharaka Holdings, yesterday announced an agreement with Marriott International for a 400-room Marriott Executive Apartments. With this exhibitions, she wants to portray that there is a hidden beauty in Qatar region and through her images, she aims to take the viewers on the visual retreat and explore Qatar from a different light.

Originally from Moscow, Russia, she has been staying in Qatar for over 5 years now and is working as a photographer. She specializes in architectural landscape, product & food photography. Besides this, she has a passion for art and local heritage. Maria has done several solo and group art exhibitions in Doha. The most recent one was dedicated to Qatari flag as “Symbol of Unity”.

ART 29 launches an all-women exhibition Feminism Is A Voice featuring local and international female artists

W Doha Hotel & Residences, the first luxury lifestyle hotel in Qatar, will showcase an art exhibition, named ‘Feminism is a Voice’ at ART 29 with the participation of 12 local and international female artists. The gallery is comprised of over 40 pieces that range from canvas paintings, calligraphy and photography.

Curated by Qatari artist Fahad Al Obaidly, the collection will showcase the formative impact of feminism on contemporary art and provide a visual framework that concerns women of today. The opening reception for the gallery was held on October 20th and will be open to the public until November 20th, from 10am-10pm daily. The talented group women who will display their stirring compositions representing each of their personal journeys include: Fatma Mohammed, Sumaia ElKilani, Abeer Al Kuwari, Aisha Al Malki, Sheikha Al Hardan, Maryam Al Homaid, Shouq Al-Mana, Sara Al-Buainain and Shuaa Al Muftah – who are all Qatari, Maysa Elmuman from Kuwait, Hadeer Omar from Yemen and Shaima Al Tamimi from Egypt.

‘Feminism is a Voice’ as an exhibition offers a multi-voiced interpretation of feminism through contemporary art. It aims to expose society to female artists who want to create a dialogue between the viewer and artwork. In addition, it will tackle concepts around feminism with works that embrace women empowerment, with literal or metaphorical visualizations.

Commenting on her personal journey through art, self-taught Qatari practitioner, Aisha Al Malki said: “Feminism is a Voice and ART29 is the perfect platform to share my artistic vision to the local art community in Qatar. My pieces are inspired from the many successful women in my life – including my mother - their memories and stories. I hope that my work will produce powerful bonds among viewers that visit the exhibition. It is definitely a place to share stories and connect with others.”

The gallery is meant to tackle the idea that there are no boundaries in art; although the women hail from different backgrounds, families and age; it is their love for art that is the common thread tying them together.

Qatari Artist, Sumaia Al Kilani, commented: “I have always been passionate about art in the form of surrealism because it enables me to depict my thoughts and visions through my paintings. My goal is to document meaningful memories by reinventing my very own thoughts and turning it into art. It has been a true pleasure for me as an artist to showcase my story to the local community through this exhibition and I hope that visitors will take the time to view all the compositions on display as they are not to be missed.”

City Centre Rotana Doha, one of the leading hospitality properties in town, in collaboration with Ocean Medical Center organized an awareness campaign for early detection of breast cancer for the female hotel staff which reflects the hotel’s commitment to the safety of its employees and their health and wellness and was a part of the hotel’s corporate social responsibility.

In this context, Dr. Veronica Macaraeg, Medical Director of Ocean Medical Center conducted free examination and OB-Gyne consultation to all the hotel’s interested female staff. Local designers debut collections at W Doha Hotel fashion show

W Doha Hotel & Residences, showcased the collection of three local designers on Monday October 23 at The Living Room. The Qatar grown designers: Maqdeem founders Maqdeem al-Naama and Aisha al-Naama, Yasmin Mansoor and WAAD Designs debuted their artistry in lively, colorful and trendy looks to dignitaries, VIPs and fashion lovers from across the city.

All three designers who are based in Qatar showcased their gorgeous designs on the runway for the Spring/Sumer 2019 season. Many of their pieces can be found online via their respective websites and all three designers from time to time showcase their designs at pop-stores around the country which enable residents to purchase on the spot.

Maqdeem, infamous for their abayas, stayed true to their heritage but also to their love of traveling and exploration of different cultures which was apparent in all pieces. It has given us a podium to share our story and journey with the local community who are also passionate about fashion. Al Meera launches the Turkish Festival

Gibbs amphibians begin Humdinga demonstrations in Qatar

Gibbs Amphibians (Gibbs) as new partner of Madaeen Al Doha Group will be demonstrating its Humdinga and Aquada High Speed Amphibious vehicles in Doha, Qatar, in response to the high level of interest from the region.

The demonstrations will allow interested parties to experience the Humdinga and Aquada both on land and water first hand. Gibbs expects that the significant interest from the region will complement its continuing business development efforts. The Humdinga is one of the more rugged vehicles created by Gibbs, capable both off-road and on-water. It can carry up to 9 passengers, with the signature Gibbs central driving position and can carry a tonne in payload. It reaches speeds of 40mph on water and over 80mph on land, with twin Gibbs proprietary water jets and 4WD.

Gibbs has locations in the U.K. (Nuneaton) and New Zealand, utilising engineers and expertise from both countries to continue to develop High Speed Amphibian (HSA) technology and the vehicles designed around it.

W Doha celebrates gourmet flavors with Spanish Extravaganza World Tour Festival

A 2 Michelin star dinner will be prepared by Chef Fernando Arellano, served in a pop-up restaurant in an undisclosed location.
