Martin Kendall: We achieved great results amid upward growth trajectory in Qatar's hospitality sector

Mr. Martin Kendall, the newly appointed General Manager of City Centre Rotana Doha, recently hosted media representatives to present an overview of the existing and future plans adopted by the hotel to strengthen its position in the market.

Addressing the gathering, Kendall highlighted the great position and special status that City Centre Rotana Doha has managed to establish during its first year of operations. This has been possible not only due to the local community who have visited and experienced exceptional level of service, but also visitors from the regional and international business community who attended events that took place in Doha across all sectors and fields.

Mr. Kendall also expressed his happiness for being in Qatar. He emphasised that the economic growth witnessed by the country made Doha the undisputed capital of international conferences. He cited that interest in the tourism sector has doubled remarkably, largely due to state-run projects that has stimulated the tourism sector, managing to achieve very strong results. The General Manager noted that during its first year of operations, the hotel has managed to achieve great results despite increasing competition in the hospitality sector. He added that the number of new hotels launched annually has gone up, indicating that Doha has become a regional capital for political, economic, and media conferences. This is besides hosting major events as well as international conferences, exhibitions and festivals that require excellent tourism services for visitors.
