City Centre Rotana Doha took part in the global Earth Hour movement by switching off all non-essential lights at the hotel for one hour from 8:30 to 9:30 pm to #ChangeClimateChange.
This international movement is aimed at raising global awareness on climate change and on the importance of energy conservation, as well as encourage the local population to contribute to the Earth’s sustainability. As the hotel switched off all non-essential lights, guests and colleagues both joined in, by lighting a symbolic candle. Earth Hour is a global initiative started by the World Wildlife Fund which started in 2007. This year, this event took place in an unprecedented 178 countries and territories. Millions of people around the world came together to highlight the urgent need to address climate change and where iconic landmarks switched off their lights for one hour to show they care about the future of the planet.
