Chocolate, Tea and Coffee (CTC) Festival’s second edition kicked off with more than 95 stalls, trucks and carts offering varieties of tea, coffee and chocolates at Al Bidda Park.
The 10-day long festival will run until February 9 and is being organised by Four and One, a leading business agency, and it brings together more than 90 local and international exhibitors, who will be displaying and providing free tasting of their finest chocolates, tea and coffee while introducing the latest award winning technological products.
The opening ceremony was attended by Ambassador of Italy, Pasquale Salzano; Four and One Chairman, Omran Al Sherawi; Four and One Chief Executive Officer, Fernando De Guama; and other dignitaries. Talking to The Peninsula, Fernando De Guama said: “This year we are amazed to see participation of more than 95 exhibitors compared to the last year when we had only 45 exhibitors. We can proudly say this year we have doubled the growth. We have international participants from Kuwait, Turkey, Canada and Singapore.”
CTC festival will have ‘Out of the box by La Marzocco’ which will be hosted the first time in the Middle East. This event will give an opportunity to all brands to participate. Workshops will be hosted by Stefanos Domatiotis (The world barista champion). “These workshops will teach everyone how coffee is made and prepared. This year we are elevating the experience of coffee to a new level,” Fernando added. In addition, CTC festival is a Qatari project which is set to be international from next year. CTC will be hosted in Kuwait, Kenya, Lebanon, Oman and Croatia.“The Grand Master” is a competition in which multi-discipline baristas will compete on: The Cupping, The Brewing, The Latte Art, The Signature Drink and The Espresso Blend.
The drink and eat innovation lab will display the latest techniques which include, learning the latest in creating the perfect menu, adding a successful culinary program to your coffee shop and latest equipment usage and will get their Hands-On Barista training.
The entry-free festival opens each day from 5pm – 12 midnight.
