City Centre Rotana Doha hosts 20 Children from Shafallah Center

Doha- City Centre Rotana Doha, within the framework of its social responsibility in serving the community in various fields, recently hosted 20 special children from Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities.

The visit of these special children was in context of City Centre Rotana Doha’s efforts to empower and integrate orphans and children with autism and special needs in the Qatari society, and to spread awareness of their rights and role within the community through activities and events. During their visit, the 20 children from Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities,learned cookie making class from the hotel’s team members at the Teatro restaurant. The visit witnessed a  remarkable interaction by the children in a lively fun atmosphere where they decorated cookies and had lunch together.

“The visit of these Shafallah Center was part of our supportive endeavors towards the kids with special needs of the community. City Centre Rotana Doha is committed to provide appropriate environment and interaction opportunity for children, aiming at increasing awareness among society on how to integrate this special category into society, especially that such initiatives create bridges of communication and integration between autistic children on the one hand and society on the other,” said City Centre Rotana Doha General Manager Martin Kendall.

Kendall further said, “While City Centre Rotana Doha is committed to providing hospitality excellence to its guests and visitors, working to enhance our leadership in the field of corporate social responsibility is considered as a key goal through supporting and promoting an environment conducive to health among youth and children.” City Centre Rotana Doha seeks to pay careful attention to promote social responsibility, especially towards vulnerable groups, such as autistic children. Such attention is manifested through various activities and events in view to recognize and raise awareness these people rights.

Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities was established in 1999 under the guidance of Her Highness Sheikha Bint Nasser to meet Qatari society need to create a comprehensive, leading, and non-profit center dedicated to children with special needs. The center provides specialized services in accordance with scientific basis and standards within the best practices to achieve maximum independence for individuals with disabilities, and to spread disability awareness through a highly efficient team of world-class programs.
