In support to the world-wide campaign on Breast Cancer Awareness, McDonald's Qatar recently organised a week-long activation in selected stores like coloring, face painting and workshops. This was aimed at creating awareness, educating the public, and expressing support for women and their loved ones.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is observed globally in October, as an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. The campaign’s mission is to help those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education and support services. Restaurants were decorated with pink ribbons to show their care to this worthy cause. In addition, McDonald’s staff sported a "I Support Breast Cancer Awareness" button pins for the whole month of October. Pink Boards were placed in the lobby of selected stores where customers wrote their messages of encouragement to those who are suffering from the disease.
McDonald's City Center located at the ground floor also hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness Fun Day celebration on October 19 from 4–7pm.Games and fun-filled activities were conducted to further boost the awareness campaign. Furthermore, they also used social media postings to raise awareness among their valued customers. This reinforced McDonald's efforts of caring for the well-being of women in the society. "McDonald's Qatar is dedicated towards our Corporate Social Responsibility to fulfill our objective towards the community. We are an organization that supports to fight illness, by creating awareness among our customers. We are also committed to spread health awareness in the community through various in store activations and staff engagement," said Ghada Kamal, Marketing Manager at McDonald's Qatar
