Doha Festival City has come together with the Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Center), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, to host 43 students who took part in the Bedaya Summer Camp initiative.
As part of the programme and to give young minds an insight into the retail, dining and entertainment industry, Doha Festival City challenged students to a treasure hunt around the Mall.
Trevor Hill, General Manager of Doha Festival City Mall, said:"The Bedaya Summer Camp is an excellent initiative to help give young minds who are on the cusp of entering the professional world, a chance to learn some invaluable skills and to be inspired. The participants who took part in our treasure hunt got a unique glimpse into the world of retail, dining and entertainment and we saw some vibrant and enthusiastic minds that could possibly come back and work for our establishment in the near future."
Throughout the day, participants were divided into six teams based on the different Doha Festival City logo colours, and each team were given a list of duties and tasks to complete as quickly as possible. Tasks included, taking a group selfie with a Doha Festival City security guard, and capturing a video of the team doing the 'mannequin challenge' in front of a clothing store's window. The winning team won a gift voucher from Virgin Megastore, and throughout the event, guests were treated with refreshments from Starbucks and lunch at 800 Degrees.
Reem al Suwaidi, General Manager of Bedaya Center, said: "The treasure hunt at Doha Festival City Mall is part of what our summer camp provides, which is a comprehensive experience for youth in the various facets of the retail sector. We are pleased to join hands with this lifestyle destination to encourage the upcoming generation to strive for excellence in everything they do and inspire them to pursue their dreams. The treasure hunt has provided a wonderful opportunity for the participants to understand the retail, entertainment and dining sector in an interactive and innovative way."
